WELCOME!

Hi All!,

After continued 'prompting' by my lovely wife, among others I have finally bitten the bullet and started this blog in which I hope to detail my love of cooking among other things.
Some of my earliest memories are of being in the kitchen 'helping' my mother prepare meals, from this grew my passion . I also have various qualifications, including some in Horticulture as well as Conservation and Land Management which I am currently using to assist with my latest project, a Kitchen Garden.
My eventual goal is to grow as much of my own produce and ingredients onsite creating a true paddock to plate experience along with the knowledge that the vast majority of my ingredients have been produced with love and care a minimum of artificial chemicals, if any and being able to trace as much as possible of it back to it's point of origin and sourcing that which I don't produce from like minded farmers from within my region, giving everything a truly local flavour.
I will also be attempting to include Australian native bushfoods in my recipes where possible. It's something I've had a great deal of interest in for many years and seeing an ever increasing number of well known 'mainstream' chefs  using Aussie bushfood ingredients in their cooking has only fuelled my passion further. Before I go any further I have to say a extremely big THANKYOU! to some very good friends of mine who recently presented me brand new platinum edition KITCHENAID in candy apple red!!!
To say I was floored by this gesture would be an understatement. As you would expect I have already begun putting it to very good use (I  LOVE my KitchenAid and I've only just begun to use it!)
My first photos will be of my no bake Lemon Cheesecake, this recipe has been a family staple for generations.
My standard reply for many a year when asked what I wanted for my Birthday by my mother was 'One of your Cheesecakes!'
Now that the recipe has been passed down to me I need not wait quite so long to spoil myself though having one of these sitting in the fridge is almost a special occasion in itself - not that it lasts very long!.... as you will see lol.
